Herne Bay Harriers U'9s Colts (Home) - "Technically" (06/04/19)

When Saturday comes, there's no time for glums. Especially when the Harriers Under 9's Juniors are in action.

Upon Saturday morning the Harriers Under 9's Juniors took on the Harriers Under 9's Colts, in which was a hard fought contest played in the right spirit. The sort off derby you wanted to be involved in.

The Harriers struck first, Archie T picking up a clearance from Zeb after good work from the defender. Controlling the ball on his chest, he spun and threw a feint to get past his opponent, kept on running with two players chasing him down, he then unleashed a shot over the goalkeepers head. A real quick start from the boys in Red. The Colts though, hit back with a goal off their own after good work in midfield, and a good finish by the goalscorer. The boys in Red kept pressing, and after the ball was zipped down the line by Zeb, and great work by Kyle down the left, he found a cross which landed at Josh's feet who found a great finish past the goalkeeper. A first half full off fight and endeavour came to a close with both sides competing well.

As the second half started, Josh came close to getting another with a shot which went just over the bar. Back down the other end, no.7 for the Colts took a corner which went straight through and in at the back post. A blow for the Harriers Juniors, but they weren't to be denied. After a quick throw by Archie R, Archie T laid the ball off to Josh, who found the top corner with a great finish. Riley then came close to getting in on the act but was denied by the goalkeeper after a good cross by Archie T. Archie R and Josh then had good efforts in quick succesion, denied by the goalkeeper, and defenders after good blocks by the Colts after good work down the wing by Archie T. Archie T then hit the post as the Juniors tried to press home their advantage. But with just a minute left on the clock, the Colts came close to grabbing a goal back off their own. Good work in midfield, found their striker who missed from in the centre off goal.

MOM went to Riley, for coming on and working tirelessly down the left side, and showing some good touches and skill.
A weekend without a game now till our next one, which is a friendly against Ramsgate.

Come on you Harriers (Juniors) ? #HBHFC
