Hard fought game vs Tankerton

Harriers U9Colts showed grit and determination in a fine match visiting Tankerton

It was a lovely morning over at Seaview as the U9 Colts played their first away game in the new league season. In fact, the team have not played a match away from the comfort of Herne since early May!
Tankerton are a new team for Harriers in the league, but are known as a strong side with the teams having previously played a friendly before the summer holidays. Tankerton had the majority of the play in the early part of the game and dominated the opening exchanges, however Harriers fought back and it was well and close fought battle, with a constantly evolving score line as the game progressed.
The U9's put on a gritty performance and had to show great determination to keep a strong opposition at bay. The coaches very proud of how the team didn't give up on the game right the way up to the final whistle.
For Harriers, the player of the match was Max for a strong athletic performance out on the wing.

There was some great football played by both teams and the excellent young referee from Tankerton saw a very exciting game well officiated.
We're sure the sun won't be as bright and warm when we play Tankerton again in the reverse fixture.

Well done the U9 Colts!
