Penalty shootout see U12's progress to next round of the EKYFL Cup

After having played against each other in the league last weekend; it was time for Harriers U12's to make the short trip to Faversham Strike Force for the two sides to meet again, but this time in the U12 Cup competition.
A lot of other teams in the division seemed to have a 'buy' into the next round, so Harriers vs Strike Force was sure to be a highlight match in the competition this Sunday.

In a repeat of the game last week, the match was a close and very well contested game, both teams were on really good form and playing some lovely football.
Against the run of play, Harriers made a quick break from a goal kick and saw Argjend score the opening goal. Strike Force then equalised with a excellent passing sequence through the middle leaving their striker 1v1 against the Harriers goal. The score then went 2-1 to Faversham, with Harriers quickly getting the score back to 2-2 thanks to Phileon meaning it was even as we entered the half time interval.
The 2nd half was just as intense, with Faversham bringing the score to 3-2 to take the lead half way through the period. After a string of excellent attacking corners from the Harriers, the equaliser was finally scored by a thunderous header from Harry from another one of Conors' excellent deliveries.

The final whistle went on 3-3, leaving Harriers to quickly pick some penalty takers. Whatever the outcome of the penalty shootout; the boys did themselves, coaches and their parents proud of their battling and determination in an exciting match.
The shootout was not a high scoring affair, with both goalkeepers making a string of excellent saves. Special mention goes to Kairon for not letting a single penalty past him, and with Josh and Harry converting theirs for the Harriers it was excitement all round for the team. Whichever of the two teams lost today would have seemed unfair after both their performances.
