Match Report Tyler Hill Away

Herne Bay Harrier's U9's Jnrs

Tyler Hill (Away)

The Herne Bay Harriers u9's Jnrs were back in league action on Saturday 12th January, after moving up a league, facing a team they know well, in Tyler Hill.

The game started as there coach would have hoped, moving the ball well, and keeping there head up to find their teammates in space, whilst defending ferociously as a unit. The first goal came at a wind swept park after good work down the right by Archie T, he fed the ball into Archie R, who left the ball for Kyle to come onto his right foot with a powerful shot from outside off the box. A cracker. A goal anyone would be proud off! As the first half went on, Tyler Hill came back into proceedings, breaking through on a number off occasions only for a last ditch tackle from Zeb or Oliver to stop them in there tracks. But with their first shot on target registered by the home side, they found the net via a couple of deflections. But then just as the game headed towards half time, Archie R won the ball and got his head up to feed an excellent ball onto the onrushing Archie T who lifted the ball over the goalkeeper's head from outside off the box. With that came the half time whistle. The boys knew they were in a tough game.

The first real action off note in the second half started with a free kick to Tyler Hill who took it with everyone in the box from both sides missing the ball and ending up into the bottom corner off the net. Tyler Hill growing in confidence, were fighting for every ball and going toe to toe with the boys from the Harriers. The team finding it hard to find space as the game looked to be frustratingly heading towards a draw for the boys. Then, with 1 ball loften into the air, Josh, like any great striker does, gambled on the defenders missing it and managed to just get ahead off the goalkeeper to stab the ball in. Then to the delight off their coach, mason won the ball in midfield and released Archie T who managed to get his head up and find Josh who again finished with aplomb. The Harriers now in full flow as the game come to a conclusion. With time almost up, a ball down the left was well chased by Kyle and Archie R with the latter having a shot saved by the goalkeeper, Josh then denied on the rebound with Archie T knocking in the final say.

As the game ended the Harriers knew they'd been through a proper test but knowing even sterner tests lie ahead.

MOM went to Josh, who showed his all round game in scoring goals but also for his tireless work in running that front line and working as a team in his forward play ?

Up the Harriers! #HBHFC
