Harriers vs Harriers

Herne Bay Harriers U9's Jnrs

Herne Bay Harriers U9's Colts (Away)

Here Bay Harriers U9's Jnrs were in League action on Saturday, playing away, but at home, against Herne Bay Harriers Colts! In a game, where faces were well known to either side, it progressed to be a highly competitive game.

The first half started with tackles flying in, with both sides trying to figure out the other. The U'9s Juniors took the game to the Colts and tried to exploit the Colts by attacking via the wing. Using their passing game to good effect, coming close on a few occasions early on. The first goal off the game came via an assist by Archie T who got the ball into the box after some good wing play for Josh to finish with aplomb with his right foot. After a flurry off corners, Archie T had the ball come back to him from a corner, ran into the box and smashed a let foot drive off the far post, with Josh there making a nuisance off himself and getting there ahead off goalkeeper and defence to prod home.

The second half started with the Colts coming back strong and fighting for every ball, putting the Harriers defence under immense scrutiny. But every time they managed to get through, goalkeeper Jude pulled off some miraculous saves. Mr. Safe hands at it again! Some chances came and went for both sides, the game staying very competitive throughout.

As the game came to a conclusion, the management team couldn't off been happier. Some good interchanging passing moves, some great defending, good tenacity in the midfield to win the ball back and start up attacks. Every player played there part. Mason's tenacity in defence despite coming up against taller strikers, Oliver's reading off the game, the sheer brilliance off Zeb in defence, with one or two marauding runs! Archie R putting in a great shift in the middle, Kyle's strong running from the wing, Riley slotting in and putting in a great shift and showing some good passes. Ronnie's running down the other wing with his dribbling. Archie T with his footwork, and Josh with his goals and shift he put in up front! All round great performance by the boys. With that the MOM went to the whole team ?
