Harriers u9 Juniors

Tankerton Colts V Herne Bay Harriers u9 Jrs (Away)

Herne Bay Harriers Under 9's Juniors took on Tankerton Colts FC away from home on a bright but chilly winter's morning.

The Harriers got off to a quick and lively start, against a good and tough opponent, some chances came and went, but finally found the breakthrough with a good finish by Kyle, after a neat pass found him via Archie R. Archie T then found the bottom corner with a strike across goal after a good solo run down the right hand side off the opposing half. The final goal off the half came after a shot from outside the box by Archie T which produced a great double save by the Tankerton goalkeeper. After Kyle's effort was saved, the third effort from Josh found the net from close range. A dominant half with a good performance from the boys.

The second half started with Tankerton forcing the issue with their no.7 looking lively. No.4 for Tankerton had a fierce drive from outside of the box, saved spectacularly by Jude in goal for the Harriers. By this point the tide had turned, Tankerton were putting the pressure on and only a superb last ditch tackle by Zeb, stopped the Colts' no.7 after a great run. Tankerton then hit the crossbar with a great free kick from their no.3. By this point they had deserved a goal off their own. But after a strong run down the right by Zeb on the break, a good cross found Riley who found the finish. And with time running out a carbon copy off the Harriers' previous goal came about. The assist coming from Zeb with a good finish from Riley to score again!

A competitive game had been had by the Harriers after a physical test which they passed.

MOTM was given to Mason, after feeling ill and starting the game on the bench, came on for the second half and gave a terrier like performance by getting stuck in and holding his position brilliantly.
